Policies

Reservations
We can book out several weeks and months in advance, so it is great to let us know as soon as you are aware of
travel plans. A free in-home “Meet and Greet” is required prior to making reservations for all new clients. The first time meet and
greet is a half hour visit to meet and go over your pet’s routine feeding and care. If you require additional meet and greets
afterwards, there will be a $26 fee for 30 minute additional meet and greet(s), due at time of booking. If there are new pets to an
existing family, please inform us so that we can do a 20 minute meet and greet with this pet. The $15 fee will be added to your
upcoming invoice.


Holiday Services
We consider the following to be our major annual holidays: Easter Sunday, Memorial Day Weekend (Sat-Mon), July 4th,
Labor Day Weekend (Sat-Mon), Day Before Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve,
Christmas Day, Day After Christmas, New Years Eve, New Year’s Day. There is a $10 surcharge per day plus the
standard charge for service being provided on these dates.


Billing and Payment Policy
All services must be paid in full in advance of services. Visits will not be officially reserved or scheduled until payment for
the services have been made. You may be considered “penciled in”, but not scheduled until payment is received. In short,
your services are not considered “booked” until payment has been made, confirmed received and care agreement/policy
signed.


Payment
We accept checks, Zelle, Venmo and PayPal payments. You can use most major credit cards on PayPal.
Dog Walking Billing Policy and Pet Sitting Billing Policy for ongoing Services
We offer weekly, bi-weekly and monthly billing options for ongoing services. All services must be paid in full in advance of
services. Visits will not be reserved or scheduled until payment for the services has been made. You may be considered “penciled
in”, but not scheduled until payment is received. In short, your services are not considered “booked” until payment has been
made, confirmed received, and care agreement/policy signed.


Unforeseen Purchases by Scottsdale Pet Services
We will purchase pet food, litter, cleaning supplies or other necessary items that are essential to the health and wellbeing
of your pet while you are absent if items in your home are unavailable or run out. We will make every attempt to
make you aware at the time the need is discovered. We will retain a receipt and the pet owner is responsible for
reimbursement of these items as soon as possible via Zelle, Venmo or PayPal. In addition to item reimbursement there will be a
$10 trip fee. Please make sure that all items needed to care for your pet are in full supply prior to the start of service.


Cancellation Policy
Major Holiday service (The week of Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years): Cancellations must be made a
minimum of 15 days prior to start of scheduled service to receive full funds returned. These visits are taken on a first
come, first serve basis and fully book each year. This time of year is critical to our business and we cannot exist with
losses from cancelled bookings. Cancellations made 14 to 8 days prior will receive 80% of your funds returned.
Cancellations made 7 to 1 day prior will receive 50% of your funds returned. Said funds will be returned within 30 days.
You may choose to have 100% of your funds held on file as credit for future services.


Minor Holiday Service (Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day): Cancellations must be made a minimum of 10
days prior to the start of scheduled service to receive full funds returned. Cancellations made 9 to 1 day prior will receive
80% of your funds returned. Said funds will be returned within 30 days. You may choose to have 100% of your funds
held as credit for future services.


Normal (Non-holiday) Pet Sitting and Overnight Services Cancellations must be made a minimum of 5 days prior
to scheduled service for services over 3 days in length. Clients may be charged for any scheduled pet sitting visits that
fall within a 3 day period of cancellation. Cancellations made 5 to 1 day prior will receive 80% of your funds returned. For
any possible refunds, funds will be returned within 30 days. We reserve the right to issue credit for routine services in
lieu of refund, especially for services over 3 days in length. Again, you may choose to have 100% of your funds held as
credit for future services.


Dog Walking Services
Cancellations/reschedules must be made by 7 am the morning of a mid-day walk, or the evening before for a morning walk. We
reserve the right to issue credit for routine services in lieu of refund.
For any service: Credit(s) will not be granted and full payment charged if our care giver arrives for a scheduled service
prior to receiving AND confirming cancellation. If you need to cancel service, please let us know as soon as possible.


Returned Check Charges – There is a $50 fee for all returned checks.

HOME ACCESS AND SECURITY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Keys
We must obtain a verified copy of your house key during the meet and greet visit when services are discussed and care
agreements/policy are in the process of being signed. Keys will be returned within 3 days of the end of your service unless
other arrangements have been agreed upon. It is recommended your key remain in your file for your convenience and
for future use of services. There may be a $5 key pick-up and $5 key drop-off fee if we need to obtain keys from you for
future pet sitting requests. We require a key even if you have provided an access code in the event of a power outage. Please
make sure batteries are up to date in any coded door access systems.


Security notifications
Always notify your alarm company, door person and/or gate guards that Scottsdale Pet Services will be caring for your
pets so that we are allowed access to your home and service goes uninterrupted. If possible provide a gate card, gate
remote control, or key fob.


Scent Devices and Products
Some households choose to use plug-ins, reed diffusers, air fresheners, strong scented candles and other like products. They
frequently contain toxic ingredients and have been associated with pet allergies and adverse respiratory conditions for both people
and pets. We ask that you unplug and store away these products a couple days before your pet sit begins. I have had clients
comment about scent in their homes that has been carried from another home. The scent from these products imbeds in clothing,
carpet and hair and is carried with me to several homes. Certain people can be sensitive causing them to experience headaches,
sneezing, burning eyes and throat, and more. It also embeds in your pet’s fur. This is important to us, so we ask for your support in

Cat Care and Litter
We only service and care for cats who use dust free and unscented kitty litter. Again it goes along with what is mentioned above.
The dust from scooping the box does carry on sleeves, faces and hair into next households. We ask for your support in being
considerate to other households. A few brands we like are: (1) Fresh Step Clean Paws Simply Unscented Clumping Clay Cat
Litter, (2) Tidy Cats Free & Clean Unscented Clumping Clay Cat Litter and (3) So Phresh Advanced Odor Control Scoopable
Fragrance Free Cat Litter. Please make sure the litter box is cleaned, has fresh litter and any Genie type units are clean and have
a fresh bag. Of equal concern, as cats groom themselves, they are ingesting whatever is in their litter including scents and dust.


Temperature of home
Please make sure thermostats are appropriately set so that your pets and their care givers are safe and comfortable. In the
summer, this is ideally between 74 and 80 degrees at the highest. If you are used to having it lower, that is fine. Anything above 80
degrees is not suitable for the animal or caregiver(s). Also, if the caregiver perspires, their body odor can carry to any next
homes. It has happened. It’s not feasible for us to go home and shower before going to the next pet sit after being in a warm
home. To avoid any pet medical emergencies in your absence, we ask for your assistance. Your thermostat may be adjusted
within reason during the visit to keep all comfortable and safe.


Smoke Alarm Batteries
If it has been more than 6 months since you have changed your smoke alarm batteries, we ask that you replace with fresh
batteries in all units. We have had two instances lately in which the alarms were screeching as we arrived. The pets were anxious
and shaking. Often the caregivers have no means to stop the alarms or change the batteries for you.


Additional Pet Care Assistance and Other Scheduled Services Not Affiliated With Scottsdale Pet Services
Scottsdale Pet Services, company owner, agents, assigns, successors and heirs are not liable and are completely indemnified for
any and all liability stemming from the act(s) or failure to act of third parties, whether known or unknown, including but not limited
to, friends, neighbors, relatives, housekeepers, landscapers, pool cleaners, or other service persons, that shall enter your
residence for any purpose while we are caring for your pets. Please note The utmost care will be given in watching your pets
during our care. However, due to the unpredictability of animals, we will not accept responsibility for any mishaps of any
extraordinary or an usual nature caused by the animal(s), i.e., furniture damage, accidental injury, biting or death of other resident
animals, or any complications in administering medications to the animal(s) if the pet becomes fearful or anxious. Nor will we be
liable for injury, disappearance, death or fines, of pets with access to the outdoors or use of doggie doors.


Social Media
I love taking care of your beloved pets. Sharing tasteful photos of your pet in my care helps me promote my business so that I
may continue to help you and help others. Your privacy will be protected and your last name and address will not be used in any
way. If you have a fun and unique pet product or toy that my other clients may like, I may share that, as well.

Privacy Policy

All of your information will be kept private and confidential. We highly respect our clients entrusting us with the care of their home and their beloved pets. We do recommend that you inform a trusted neighbor that while you are away, Scottsdale Pet Services will be caring for your pets and entering your home.
